Getting To the Root of the Problem

Sometimes I like to torture myself. After going to the dentist and being reminded that I needed to get one of my root canals redone, I called to make the appointment. They had an opening Thursday afternoon. Oh what fun it was. I especially liked having my mouth numb for the next 6 hours. Today, I could tell that tooth was worked on--no fun. But at least it's done.

Here's one of my latest and greatest PSE creations. I thought it was kind of cool.

Housecleaning

I should have been cleaning my house but instead this is what I got done. Digiscrapping is way more fun than cleaning toilets.

Happy 27th Anniversary January 16

Sniff, Sniff

What use was it having a great mini vacation to the beach when you come home only to get sick? Two days after I stepped off the plane, wham, I got hit with a sore throat. Mark followed suit getting sick the next day with the same thing. Both of us spent the next couple of days seeing who could use up the most Kleenexes in one day and we both sounded like we were a pack-a-day smokers! No fun at all. I'm glad to report that we are feeling much better. I'm even feeling good enough to do more digiscrapping.

I'm finding my brain is filled with more ideas than I have time to work on. Not to mention the fact that Jordan has a science project due next week. You who are moms know what that means--yep, that I'm doing a science project, with some help from Jordan.

Here's the high tide and low tide.

O Yes! O-side!

We went to Oceanside, California, for our 27th anniversary. It's unbelievable that we had such perfect weather!
Highs were 70 to 80 degrees, blue sky, sunshine, you get the picture.
We went to our favorite complex, NCV, and spent every day at the beach. You just can't get any better than this.

The sunsets were just as gorgeous as the early mornings.
Mark & I both decided it wouldn't be hard to get used to this.
In San Diego Old Town we came across some great shops and outdoor restaurants. We thought the boys would miss us, since they had to fend for themselves and take care of Jordan, but they did fine. Maisey seemed to miss us the most!

Trial & Error

Here's a page I put together just by messing around with PSE. I have a few others but they're not quite up to my standards for publishing. Drop by after the weekend. I know I'll have more to post by then.

Slip Sliding Away

That seems to be the theme for us the past couple of weeks, since we've been getting snow at regular intervals. There are a few men in this household who anxiously await each storm so they can test their driving skills. It isn't very fun to have a 4X4 and not use it, right? They have even suggested, on numerous occasions, to take the Scion out and see how it does in the snow! Because of budget constraints our city postpones plowing until there's 4" of snow or during regular business hours. So, yeah, I have been able to hone my winter driving skills as well. Jordan (with the help of his brothers) built a small snow ramp and jump in the back yard. This reminds Mark of the snow jump they built off of the porch roof when he was a kid.
Maisey loves to be out in the snow also, until she accumulates big snowballs on her fur. She's very fond of chasing snowballs.

We had a wonderful Christmas; enjoyed the food WAY too much, and also enjoyed gathering together with our family and friends. All good things must come to an end. It's time to get back to the real world. Our calendar for January is already crammed full with activities, appointments, etc. To top that off, I've got my 2009 goals to work on. For Christmas I got Photoshop Elements 7 and all I want to do is play with it (that happens to be one of my goals, by the way). Hopefully, I'll be able to post some really great jpgs here soon.

About Me

I'm a mom to 4 handsome sons and 1 beautiful daughter. I'm married to one of the most patient men on the planet and love him for it. My dog thinks she is the princess of the palace. Oh, and I have 1 grandpuppy.
