It's What Fun Is!

When Jordan was 5 we went to Disneyland for a family vacation. Now many of you have heard me tell that was the vacation from HE??. Becki didn't want to be there (we wouldn't let her stay home by herself @ that time), she got sick, and Jordan ended up hating Disneyland. We kept telling him how much fun these rides were and all they did was scare the crud out of him. He HATED Thunder Mtn. Railroad, HATED Pirates of the Carribean, HATED just about every ride except Peter Pan and the Monorail. The final straw was Honey, I Shrunk the Audience when the air blew up his pant leg and he thought it was a mouse. He has never wanted to go to any amusement park since then.

Thank goodness for classmates and school trips to the local amusement park.

Jord wanted to hang with his friends so he talked himself into going. This kid came home with a totally different perspective. All he could do was tell us how he LOVED Wicked (shown above), he LOVED the white roller coaster, he LOVED the Collosus. As the song goes, he got by with a little help from his friends. Yeah!

Today, we had the all the cousins for a Memorial Day BBQ. Couldn't get much better: Good food; good weather; good times playing baseball with everyone from 2 - 60.

The beginning of a long weekend!

Yipee! Memorial Day weekend is here. I guess it doesn't mean as much to me as it does to those who work. Still, it's nice to have Mark home an extra day because sometimes we get so busy with our lives that we only seem to say "hi" and "bye" to each other. For once, our weather over this holiday weekend is supposed to be nice and warm. We've got radishes coming up in our garden and fruit beginning to grow on my trees.

Here's a few more pages I finally put together from our trip back to the Midwest.
Farm animals are a novelty to the boys, which seems strange, considering I grew up on a farm.

Trippin'

Adam, Dan & I made a trip back to see mom (Grandma) for Mother's Day. Besides visiting, we had lots of projects we wanted to accomplish while we were there like replacing the bathroom floor, installing ceiling fans, and other little repairs we happened to come upon. Even though we were busy we managed to squeeze in a few small photo opportunities around the area. Dan got to experience turkey hunting and mushroom hunting. Um, the mushrooms were so much easier to bag than the turkey. While out in the woods, he was steps away from a newborn fawn. He certainly wished he'd had his camera along for that.

Men's Night Out

The MEN in the family decided to have a night out--just the guys--so they went roughin' it. Mark stated it was one of the best camps he's been on for he really liked being with his sons. Dan brought along his SLR camera and that was the object of their entertainment for the evening--just messing around.

Hello, Again

Spring sprung and I got extremely busy. YW meetings, school programs, concerts, yardwork, to name a few, have kept me away from PSE and posting on the blog. Also, Dan, Adam & I made a trip back to Grandma's house to visit and play Home Improvement. I'll get some of those pictures posted later.

We decided it was time to get a new family picture taken. Since I have 2 budding photographers in the family now, it wasn't hard to get everyone together. Somehow we managed to dodge the raindrops and the lightning as storm clouds hovered over us. You gotta love spring showers.

About Me

I'm a mom to 4 handsome sons and 1 beautiful daughter. I'm married to one of the most patient men on the planet and love him for it. My dog thinks she is the princess of the palace. Oh, and I have 1 grandpuppy.
